Confectionery Guild - Services
The Barcelona Confectionery Guild is an institution that upholds the interests of its members with the aim of improving the profession through common endeavour.
Society and its customs evolve on a daily basis, and the confectionery sector must be able to adapt to these changes. This gives rise to the need to improve professionalism in order to be more competitive, to continually metamorphose to satisfy new demands. To achieve this, it is necessary to unify and coordinate efforts towards a common goal.
Stimulating the professional environment and encouraging social relations between guild members also allows us to improve as a collective, gaining a better understanding of our colleagues and tightening the bonds of friendship that unite so many of us. At the Guild we work towards ensuring that the confectionery business improves each day, helping guild members with services and proposals that are of the greatest use to them:
- Purchasing Head Office: to obtain the best possible purchasing terms for raw materials, saving time and money.
- Image consultancy: the Guild offers advice on new trends to guild members who want to modernise their image, as well as information on potential financial aid.
- Integral Marketing Plan: geared towards increasing guild members’ sales through promotional and advertising campaigns and public relations.
- Assistance Service: advice on tax, labour, accounting and legal matters; offering total confidentiality and the utmost professionalism of our professional assistants.

At the same time, the Guild offers all its members the opportunity to enhance their training at the Confectionery School, a school with a high reputation thanks to the excellent standards it has achieved both in Spain and abroad. Guild members can also benefit from the school’s employment agency, which features qualified students from the school and other professionals who constantly stimulate and bring a breath of fresh air to the profession. The Women Confectioners’ Guild (GGMP) also gives different courses on presentation and sales techniques which contribute considerably to the optimum running of a patisserie.

Secretarial Activities and Services
Preparation, presentation and follow-up of the different procedures necessary for LEGALISATION, NAME CHANGES and BUSINESS EXPANSION. They take care of drawing up the documentation and plans to be presented to:
GENERALITAT OF CATALONIA (Industrial Territorial Service) for registration in the Industrial Register.
CITY COUNCIL, for obtaining the Municipal Permit and Business Licence.

CITY COUNCIL PROCEDURES:
Payment of taxes.
Application, procedure and follow-up of works licences and business premises.
Renovation of façades
The public highway: adapting corrective measures due to neighbours’ complaints about smoke, noise, etc.
Public Health inspections and procedures (Multi-Purpose Inspection) in relation to Health Inspections and neighbours’ complaints.
Various procedures by the respective technicians to adapt work-rooms in line with current regulations, replacing and enlarging motors, neighbours’ complaints about noise and smoke, etc.
Inspections by the OPERATIONAL UNIT OF INCOME AND TAX INSPECTION to regulate taxes.

GENERALITAT OF CATALONIA DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRY, TRADE AND TOURISM:
Applications for opening authorisation for patisserie establishments and restaurants in accordance with the provisions of the Hotel and Restaurant Law.
